Darlene Sorensen as Eve Miller

Darlene Sorensen truly believes that "all the world is a stage." Playing is one of her greatest passions, whether it is through theater, dance, or in the routine of daily life. Darlene holds a B.F.A in Theatre and an M.A. in counseling psychology-emphasis in drama therapy. She has over 20 years experience performing in a variety of venues. She has facilitated improv workshops and drama therapy for life skills enhancement, personal growth, customer service skills, performance and just plain fun. Darlene loves dance, reading, experimenting with cooking and rarely finds life boring (with the exception of tax receipt organizing). She is blessed with a daughter and partner, who fill her life with joy, depth and laughter.

Eric Schneiwind as Jeff Lambert

Shelley Bryant as Camren and Mary

Ross Laguzza

Ross Laguzza is an actor, improviser, and comedian. Over the last 25 years, he has worked extensively as an actor in regional theatre in both conventional (think Atticus Finch) and unconventional roles (think Murderous Sock Puppet). He also has appeared in TV commercials and hundreds of improv theatre performances. Ross currently is a member of the Playback Theatre Company and Enso Theatre Company and enjoys playing the drums for his dog Mr. Chowder.

The Diarist

Beth Ricketson as Andrea Davies

Beth started acting late in high school and immediately fell in love with it. She is a native of Southern California, growing up in Fullerton, then spending over a decade in Los Angeles, but is finally home in Portland, Or. Beth was a longtime member of The Eclectic Theatre Company in North Hollywood, where she co-adapted, produced and performed in an adaptation of Paulo Coelho's Veronika Decides to Die. In Los Angeles, Beth also performed at several other theaters including The Blank, Zombie Joe's, and A Noise Within. She is a member of Playback PDX and is honored (and having a blast) to be performing in The Diarist. A typical crunchy Oregonian, Beth loves hiking and all things nature as well as reading, sketching, and generally being arty. She works as an actor and a special educator.

Ryan Bowen as Richard Hayes

As a young teen Ryan was drawn to the theatre performing in numerous musical and dramatic productions. He left his native Oregon to study theatre in Boston and returned to study film and work on film sets.. He is a long time member of the improv troupe Playback PDX and is thrilled to be a part of the talented cast and team of The Diarist. He is an excited entrepreneur founding and running a couple of successful local businesses. In his free time, Ryan enjoys hiking, reading, guitar and traveling the world with his wife and youngest daughter.

Corinne Elena as Margaret Hayes

Classically trained, Corinne Bachaud holds a BA in theater from Reed College. She's played in numerous films and stage productions from contemporary drama to King Lear. Her list of credits include: Love is Electric, Vampyre, Holding on to the Sky, and Not Yours. Corrine is trained in contemporary dance, is a singer and musician. She loves mystery and is an avid podcast fan.

Darlene Sorenson as Mother/ Ellen

Eric Schneiwind, Father/ Steven Morris

Nikki Flinn as Velvet Maude

Nikki Flinn is a professional actress and teaching artist residing in the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys voiceover work and is thrilled to be working on The Diarist. Some of her work can be viewed at

Pierson Rintz

Professional musician and music teacher, Pierson Rintz, is excited to be a part of this project. Pulling from his past vocal experience as a singer, voice artist, and actor, he enjoys the challenge of voicing a variety of characters for the series.

Shelley Bryant

Heather Dowling

The Diarist is a psychological drama exploring the alluring side of power and sexual attraction. Andrea Davies hopefully enters the paradoxical world of 1950s womanhood but she soon veers into an increasingly menacing extramarital affair with Richard Hayes, a dominant ad executive. However, the Diarist is no 50 shades of gray, more like a Hitchcock Love Story with a dose of David Lynch. The story starts innocently enough but soon turns bizarre as the inner worlds of the characters are revealed. The Diarist immerses listeners into the 1950s world of Madison Avenue advertising. Secrets are exposed, darkness descends, and for Andrea all roads appear to lead to a harrowing fate.

The Diarist is at 80,000 downloads, positive reviews, and recognition.

"Duuuude I am obsessed with this show! The music and the writing are absolutely pristine. The main characters are so loathsome that sometimes it can be hard to listen without wanting to cuss out a wall, but that's a testament to how effective the writing is. I'm recommending it to everyone! (Also,..."Read full review »

The darkness within the human heart
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
"THE DIARIST is a frank and emotional look at the darkness within the human heart. Some have compared it to MAD MEN crossed with one of the classical romance novels like JANE EYRE or WUTHERING HEIGHTS. I don't think that goes far enough. It's a frank exploration of what happens when love becomes..."Read full review »
